Pacific Islander (AAPI) Listening Session
Some of the questions that would like to be discussed include: Do you feel safe at work? Do you feel that you have been denied a job based on your national origin? Are you treated fairly? Do you experience discrimination or harassment? Does your employer pay you full and fair wages for all hours you work? When: Saturday, February 21, 2015 10:00 am to 12:00 Noon Where: Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Headquarters & Conference Center 1800 Massachusetts Ave NW Washington, DC 20036 Officials from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) want to meet with you and hear your concerns. Your feedback is important and will help the agencies identify how to better serve and protect Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. You have the right to speak to your leaders about these topics, regardless of your immigration status. Staff from the local offices of these agencies will also be present to give you direct assistance, answer questions, take your complaints and follow-up with you after the event, as necessary. Use your voice and join this important community conversation about how your leaders can better serve you. Please note that you can participate in these meetings without using your name, if you prefer. Language interpreters will be available to assist you.
