美国男子哈钦森（Aric Hutchinson），去年4月28日和爱人米勒（Samantha Miller）在南卡罗莱纳州举行婚礼，孰料米勒当晚就被酒驾女司机超速撞死，身上还穿著婚纱，哈钦森事后控告向肇事者提供酒精饮品的商家，近来取得86万3300美元和解金。
据《美联社》报导，哈钦森当时带著米勒坐上高尔夫球车，驶离两人举办婚礼的会场，孰料，酒醉女驾驶科莫罗斯基（Jamie Lee Komoroski）在速限40公里的道路上开到时速104公里，撞击高尔夫球车导致米勒当场死亡。
哈钦森虽然在车祸中生还，但也脑部受伤、多处骨折。哈钦森后续提出的诉讼指称，科莫罗斯基当晚在南卡州富丽海滩（Folly Beach）多间酒吧喝到烂醉，接著就开著租来的丰田Camry上路，肇事后血液酒精浓度超过法定上限的3倍。
为此，哈钦森控告接待过科莫罗斯基的酒吧The Drop In Bar & Deli、Crab Shack、Snapper Jacks，再加上汽车保险和租车业者的赔偿，哈钦森获得了130万美元和解金，但还要扣掉律师费和诉讼费，最终为86万3300美元，法官杨恩（Roger Young）近日批准和解。
至于肇事的科莫罗斯基，被指控酒驾致死、过失杀人、酒驾导致他人重伤的重罪，目前已交保在外，等待法院开庭审理。
