Mr. Evan Osnos A Staff Writer for The New York on “The Other China Dream: China in the Age of Ambition” Wednesday, October 21, 20155:00-7:00 pmKenney Auditorium1740 Massachusetts Avenue, NWWashington, DC 20036 Evan Osnos joined The New Yorker as a staff writer in 2008, and covers politics and foreign affairs. He is also a fellow at the Brookings Institution. His recent articles include profiles of Chinese president Xi Jinping, U.S. Republican candidate Donald Trump, and U.S. Vice President Joe Biden. Osnos's book, “Age of Ambition: Chasing Fortune, Truth, and Faith in the New China,” based on eight years of living in Beijing, won the 2014 National Book Award in nonfiction and was a finalist for the 2015 Pulitzer Prize in general nonfiction. Previously, Osnos worked as Beijing bureau chief for the Chicago Tribune, where he was part of a team that won the 2008 Pulitzer Prize for investigative reporting. Before his assignment to China, he worked in the Middle East, reporting mostly from Iraq. Osnos has also contributed to “This American Life” and been a correspondent for “Frontline/World.” Reception and book signing follow the presentation.
