"Through this internship experience, I have been able to develop leadership skills, broaden my network, and gain a better understanding of the country's internal political structure. I have also been exposed to a variety of issues that affect various populations across the country. I have gained considerable insight into how the government can effectively address the issues marginalized communities in the U.S. face today. This realization has instilled in me a sense of community and the desire to give back. My future endeavors have expanded beyond becoming merely an educator; I am now motivated to work on educational policy that not only affects the students in my classroom and community back home, but across the nation as well."
