Corresponding
with the launch of 2016 US-China Tourism Year, the 2016 Tourism Summit, which
aims at promoting tourism business cooperation and people-to-people exchange
between the two countries, will kick off on October 1st in
Washington, DC. The
enormous economic benefits that Chinese outbound travelling has brought have
been increasingly witnessed: as the largest source market in the world, Chinese
outbound travel now accounts for nearly 10 percent of the global amount;
meanwhile China leads global outbound travel with double-digit growth
benefiting United States as travel destination every year since 2014. To give
tourists and tourism industry providers new resources to increase travel
between the two countries, Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Barack
Obama declared 2016 to be the US-China Tourism Year. “China
and the United States are both proud of their splendid culture and beautiful
landscape and people from both countries are keenly interested in learning more
about each other and cementing their friendship,” said President Xi in his
congratulation message to the Grand Opening Ceremony for 2016 US-China Tourism
Year. “I hope we'll take this opportunity to expand personnel exchange,
reinforce cultural exchange and foster a more solid social basis for bilateral
relations development.” Organized
by the Washington China Forum, the summit will deepen and expand the influences
of the US-China Tourism Year. Eyeing on existing problems and practical
solutions to these problems within tourism industry, US and China
representatives from public and private sectors will gather at the foot of the Capitol
to conduct in-depth conversations and find out a direction advancing to better
development. The
summit will also provide businesses with opportunities to network and build up
partnerships. Industry stakeholders will be connected for open dialogues and
long-term business success; one-on-one business relationship will be
facilitated to boost profit and foster a healthy and sustainable growth. Coincided
with China’s National Day, a cocktail reception will take place in the evening
as an extended part of the summit. Traditional Chinese food and arts
performance will be served to further facilitate cultural communication. Tickets
for the 2016 Tourism Summit are now on sale. Get your tickets at http://www.washingtonchina.org/registration/ and knock on the door to
future opportunities. “Tourism
Summit is constructing a bridge between US and China tourism in this critical
2016 US-China Tourism Year. I hope a consensus can be reached, cooperation can
be obtained, power can be gathered, and communication can be expanded,” said
Huiyu Zhang, Chief Strategy Ofiicer and Founder of Washington China Forum. “I
believe this unique event will inspire representatives from tourism industry,
and bring best possible oversea experience to US and Chinese tourists.” |
