Showcase, Roundtable Discussion on Autonomous Vehicles and Congressional Fly-In
to Promote Transportation Technology The
Intelligent Transportation Society of America is holding several high-profile
events this week in Washington, D.C. to promote intelligent transportation
technologies, as the White House, Congress, and other stakeholders look at ways
to address the next generation of transformative transportation. At both
Wednesday and Thursday’s events transportation, technology and research
industry leaders will be available to speak with reporters, and you are
invited. On
Wednesday, March 22, from 5:30 p.m. to
8:00 p.m., ITS America will hold a Technology Showcase and Reception in Room 2167 of the Rayburn House Office
Building. The next generation of transportation technology will be on
display. On Thursday, March 23, from
12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., ITS America will lead a roundtable discussion on
autonomous vehicles from the states’ perspective in Room 340 of the Cannon House Office Building. Representatives from
the Utah, Arizona and Michigan Departments of Transportation will share how
states are shaping autonomous vehicle testing that fosters innovation and
ensures safety. During
its spring Board of Directors meeting, ITS America officials will be meeting House
and Senate members, staff, administration officials and other stakeholders to
highlight exciting developments in transportation technology. These include
robotics, automation, connected vehicles, vehicle-to-infrastructure
communications, artificial intelligence, wireless communications, and cloud
computing which collectively are inspiring the next generation of mobility. “ITS

our nation's transportation system in a way that incorporates these
technologies into both existing and new infrastructure. Intelligent and
