Dear all, I hope that everything is well with you. Some of you may have heard this from other channels already, but there is a young man named Matt Tsun, who lives in this area (Arlington County, VA) and being recently diagnosed with leukemia, so he is in desperate need of a bone marrow transplant. He is the only child of Betty and Dr. Michael Tsun (some of you may also know Dr. Tsun or even have seen him before as he is a pulmonologist in this area - and it is also very unfortunate that Dr. Tsun has been diagnosed with ALS disease a few years ago). You can refer to the link below for Matt's story: As Matt is Chinese, the best chance for a matching bone marrow donor would be someone with a Chinese origin as well, but unfortunately Chinese is heavily under-represented in the bone marrow donation registry. Therefore, I would like to encourage everyone from age 18 to 44 who is in good health to register (more details below). Christ Proclamation Church, C&MA (12113 Vale Road, Oakton, VA 22124) will be hosting a bone marrow drive on Sunday, 4/24 from 12:30pm - 3pm. Attached please find the flyer and below is a few highlights about the donation/ registration process.
I
hope that you can seriously consider registering, as that's the least
we can do in hope of making a difference to save the lives of people
like Matt and other potential Chinese leukemia patients who are in
need. While many of you may already be out of the donor's age range, it
would still be very helpful if you can pass on the words about this
bone marrow drive and other upcoming ones, and encourage those who are
eligible to register. Thank you very much for reading through this email, and have a nice day!! |
