Job responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the program manager, the incumbent shall:
- Track, collect and distribute essential documents, including applications, I-20 forms, school acceptance letters, contracts, visa and passport copies and health records that are necessary for students to maintain their F-1 visa status
- Work with Chinese students & their parents both in person and over the phone to answer any questions or address any issues they may have.
- Perform monthly phone calls to check in with Chinese teachers across the nation to ensure their satisfaction with the Teacher Exchange Program.
- Maintain detailed records of communications, results, inquiries, etc.
- Act as basic Chinese translator in the office and for local errands (such as bank) for international students
- Perform general office functions, as needed
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in oral and written English and Chinese
- Ability to function in a multicultural, multilingual work environment
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize urgent tasks
- Ability to work independently and problem solve under minimum supervision
- Ability to communicate and interact with Chinese students, teachers and parents
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor degree and above
